Quaid and his wife, Kimberly Buffington, did a top-to-bottom remodel completed in 2008. They purchased the home in 2005 for an undisclosed amount, according to public records. At the time of the purchase, records note a first loan of $3.8 million.
We're not sure how much that make-over cost, but the finished home and an interview with the star of "The Big Easy" were featured in Architectural Digest.

Hollywood design duo Krista and John Everage added their touch to the property, which has rough-hewn beams from a Pennsylvania barn and antiques from France. Quaid and his wife also purchased an adjacent lot so they could add horse stables. The home has eight bedrooms, a bells-and-whistles kitchen, formal dining room, and a wine cellar. The grounds feature a pool and spa, horse stables, corrals and secluded horse riding trails. There is also a new putting green.
